I met Darryl in Art 110. I asked him is art important? How so? He said that art is important in our society because art is a form of communication. Art can be seen as a bridge connecting people of different age, sex, cultural, and religion together. All these different people connected can communicate with each other with nonverbal gestures. For example, a book, dance, paintings, landscapes of color. As a result, art gets different messages across the board of the world. Overall, if art never existed then our communication skills will be less insightful and meaningless. In addition, the people that were on the bridge would have never known what was across the other side of the bridge or the many forms of communicating in artistic ways.
